Sacramento-based New Homes Sales and Marketing Firm Opens Bay Area and Southern California Operations and Eyes Other Western Markets
Kevin Coates, CEO and President of Sacramento-based The Advantage Group, announced that his firm has opened operations in Southern California immediately following the merger with the Bay Area’s new home sales division of The Reiser Group.
The expansion by the multi-generational The Advantage Group (TAG) makes the firm the largest single-source provider of new homes sales and marketing in California, providing homebuilders with strategic planning services ahead of constructing subdivisions and infill residential communities through marketing, sale, and escrow services. With an existing office in Reno, Nevada, the company also plans to expand its presence in Nevada and other growing communities throughout the western states.
In addition to merging his firm with The Advantage Group, Tom Reiser – the Founder of Alamo-based The Reiser Group, takes on the role of Executive Managing Director to lead The Advantage Group’s business development efforts statewide, and eventually, to open offices and markets in other western states. Reiser started his company in 1999 and previously was a regional and community sales director for several of the national homebuilding companies.
Linda Johnson, a 40-year homebuilding industry veteran, was hired as Operations Manager/Southern California to run TAG’s operations throughout the region. Her experience includes VP of Sales, Marketing and Operations Management along with providing DRE-HOAProject Approval services on behalf of public and private developers, as well as financial institutions and government agencies associated with new home communities. Johnson’s attention to detail is legendary among past and present clients.
Collectively, the Coates family, along with Tom Reiser and Linda Johnson, have been in the same niche real estate industry for multiple decades in three core marketplaces in California and principally focus on marketing and selling single-family subdivisions, suburban infill communities, luxury new home neighborhoods. master-planned communities, and condominiums for both public and privately owned and operated homebuilders. They have represented homebuilders and sold thousands of homes in over half of California’s 58 counties, with home sales valued in excess of $15 billion.
“The timing of our expansion is driven by relationships and opportunities in the homebuilding industry throughout California and the Western States. We have the resources, expertise and industry contacts with in-place operations and sales professionals to support homebuilders from the pre-planning stage of their projects to close-out sales,” said Kevin Coates.
The new management team at The Advantage Group – in addition to the aforementioned Tom Reiser and Linda Johnson, is comprised of Kevin Coates and his wife, Lynelle Coates (Office Manager), Director of Operations Karen Jimenez, Escrow Manager Anna Curry, Division Sales Manager Margaret Olmstead and the Coates’ adult sons—Vice President Ryan Coates and Director of Research Chris Coates.
The Advantage Group also serves developers with land brokerage services and land planning, has deep familiarity with industry alliance specializations such as architecture, interior and landscape design, engineering, and can also assist homebuilders with city and county planning submittals and permitting.
